Your Gateway to
Great Fishing in the
Bay of Plenty

Waihī Beach Bowentown Boating & Fishing Club sits in one of the Bay of Plenty’s most sought-after fishing locations, offering easy access to both harbour and offshore waters.

Whether you’re a seasoned angler or simply enjoy a day out on the boat, our unique coastal setting provides exceptional opportunities year-round.

From sheltered harbour spots perfect for a relaxed fish, to exciting adventures beyond the Bowentown Bar, the region is known for its abundance of snapper, kahawai, and seasonal game fish. And with Mayor Island (Tuhua) only 30 kilometres offshore, it’s a favourite destination for those chasing migratory species during the summer months.

Our Club supports anglers of all levels with excellent facilities, experienced weighmasters, and a welcoming community that loves to share stories from the water. It’s the perfect place to launch, explore, and enjoy everything our coastline has to offer.

Size Your Catch

Gamefish Weightable

The Gamefish Weight Table provides an easy way to estimate the weight of your catch using a recognised measurement formula.

It calculates weight by multiplying the length of the fish by the square of its girth, then dividing by 800 — giving you an estimate in both pounds and kilograms.
